I was born and raised in California. I knew I wanted to be a nurse from an early age and never pursued any other career. I am the fourth of six children, and my parents encouraged each of us to follow our dream and become whatever made us happy.

I received my Associates Degree in Nursing, from Ohlone College in Fremont, in 1978. While working part time and raising a family I returned to school and earned my Bachelors of Science Degree in Nursing (1996) and my Masters Degree in Nursing (2002) from the University of Phoenix.

I have been a member of the California Nurses Association (CNA) since 1978 and the American Association of Critical Care Nurses (AACN) since 1986.

Today, I continue to work part time because I love my job. I continue to get pleasure from taking care of those who need me most, the critically ill. I also enjoy teaching, supporting, mentoring and helping others who might benefit from my education and experience.

During my time off I enjoy traveling with my husband. We look forward to taking trips in our RV to places we can bicycle and hike and see new places. We also enjoy an occasional splurge to Alaska or Europe.
